About
Being told you’re done doesn’t mean you’re finished.
Nova Functional Training exists because its founder was handed a prognosis that should have stopped her, and went the other way instead.

Jane Pavalkis
Founder & CEO
- Doctor of Chiropractic
- Active Life Professional
- Former collegiate crew team captain
Meet Jane Pavalkis, founder and CEO of NOVA Functional Training, and the kind of person who responds to a devastating diagnosis by building an entire training system.
A former collegiate crew team captain, Doctor of Chiropractic, and Active Life Professional, Jane brings the kind of credentials that impress you right up until you hear her story and realize the credentials are almost the least interesting part.
Diagnosed with tricompartmental arthritis, no ACL, and a recommended partial knee replacement with a tibial osteotomy, Jane was handed a prognosis that would have stopped most people cold. She chose a different route.
NOVA wasn’t just founded out of passion for helping others, it started because Jane needed to prove, for herself, that a body could be rebuilt beyond what the medical textbooks predicted.
For the athletes, the doers, and the ones who refuse to settle, she built the place she wished had existed. Jane gets it in a way that goes beyond the degrees on the wall, because she’s walked the same path her clients are on and refused to stop walking.
Being told you’re done doesn’t mean you’re finished, and nobody believes that more than the person who built NOVA to prove it.

Jason
CFO & Programming
- Veteran
- Former gym owner
- Former Para-bobsled athlete
Meet Jason, the CFO, programming brain, and logistics mastermind who keeps NOVA Functional Training running so smoothly you’d never know how much is happening behind the scenes. You won’t see him on the gym floor often, but trust us, everything works better because of him.
A veteran, former gym owner, and former Para-bobsled athlete (yes, the fast and icy kind), Jason brings a resume that most people couldn’t survive, and we mean that more literally than you’d think, given the concussion count we’ve collectively agreed to stop discussing.
He’s the quiet powerhouse making sure our mission stays on track, our programs stay smart, and our coaches and athletes have everything they need.
You might not see him often, but when you do, know this: he’s been through it, and he’s still showing up.
Built for the ones who refuse to settle.
If you have been told what you can no longer do, we would like to hear about it.
